Recording: completing ‘¿Dónde Está El Baño?’

Compared to previous projects, completing Dónde… was pretty much easy as pie. And here’s what happened.

¿Dónde Está El Baño? vocals and percussion: rig run down

Completing ¿Dónde Está El Baño?

By and large, completing Dónde… was the exact same as completing previous tracks. At this time, I’m largely on auto-pilot when it comes to this.

  • Firstly, I did the micro-mixing for each instrument section
  • Then I exported each section, and imported them into a new project
  • Next, I mixed the new project, added compression, and made some tweaks
  • Finally, I mastered the track with BandLab’s mastering function

And that was it!

Conclusion

In conclusion, completing Dónde… was all relatively straightforward. Here’s how it sounds.

All in all, quite unremarkable. You can listen to it in the Spotify player below or to the right.

As a matter of fact, it’s in a playlist, so you can hear how the light audio recording methodology might change from track to track.

At this stage, there has been quite a bit of different gear and rooms and techniques employed for tracking. But the methodology to completing a track has remained largely unchanged.
