Now, for the hotly contested world of microphone placement!
Generally, this is one of those things that’s incredibly subjective. However, I think this is the guide I’ve tried to take a little bit of everything from.
For example, today, the V67G was…
- Placed about level with the center of the amp’s speaker
- Positioned at a 45 degree angle to the front of the amp – pointing in between the center and the edge of the speaker
- The mic was about six inches from the front of the amp

In addition to the solid body electric guitar with humbuckers, the two other usual guitars were recorded:
- Semi-holllow body electric guitar with humbuckers
- Solid body guitar with single coil pickups
Finally, here’s what they all sound like tracked, unmixed or processed.
