At the present time, running a website means being at the mercy of Google. And this means you’ll get spanked by them if your website has duplicate content. In every post about recording, the set up is the same.
Now, to avoid flying too close to the sun, posts about recording will link to this page, rather than repeating myself.
Step one is primarily concerned with setting up your hardware.
- Set up computer/smartphone in an appropriate place
- Plug audio interface into the computer/smartphone
- Put microphone in the microphone stand, and place it where it should be
- Plug the microphone into the audio interface using an XLR cable
Step one – set up: rig run down
Additionally, here’s a list of the specific hardware that I use in recording posts.
- Computer: ASUS Chromebook Flip C100PA
- Smartphone: Samsung Galaxy S9
- Audio interface: Samson Studio GT or IK Multimedia iRig Pre
- Microphone: MXL V67G
- XLR cable: Pig Hog Cables 10ft XLR cable
Finally, any specific information relevant to the particular session will be included in the post about that session.
For example, guitars used or microphone positioning.
