Amazon is great, but Black Friday 2018 on Reverb has an abundance of deals, targeted at musical folks. Here are some select deals. They don’t start to cover what’s available, but will definitely give you an idea.
Black Friday 2018 on Reverb
The sale promotes 15% off. But, if you look, you’ll find deals with 20% or more off. I’ll try to cover a good cross-section of gear, picking the most relevant of Reverb’s categories, and an example from the most relevant subcategories.
Let’s find you some helpful, cheap stuff!
Recording equipment
Well, recording audio is literally what light audio recording is about, so Reverb’s pro audio section seems like the most obvious place to start!
IK Multimedia iRig Pro
IK Multimedia are probably the most established name in solutions for mobile recording, and they have their very own Reverb store for selling things directly to you.
The iRig has a few iterations, and they’ve listed this one for their Black Friday sale. It’s hard to get more compact than this, but it’s ideal for bringing elsewhere to record drums.
It doesn’t specify on the listing, but their website says it’ll work with Android. Get it now for $84.99.
Alesis M1 active monitors
These look like the absolute business for light audio recording. They’re incredibly compact with their 3″ woofers, and any monitors that cost less than $100 for the pair is good going. These only cost $67.15!
They also have an internal interface functionality. But in the absence of a level control for that, I think their use in that respect is somewhat limited.
Still, I think I’m going to get these.
Samson SR950 studio headphones
Monitor speakers are great, but you also need a good set of headphones for listening back to your light audio recording efforts.
You can go as expensive as you like, but this set from Samson seem like a good balance of quality and price. For Black Friday 2018 on Reverb, they’re only $60.02.
AKG Perception 120 microphone
AKG are one of the world’s top brands in microphones, so it’s great to be able to feature one of their products on a light audio recording list.
The Perception 120 is a condenser mic. It should cover your vocals, drums, and guitars recording needs. It’s available for $67.15.
Guitars and bass
Guitars are great. There are thousands available on Reverb at the best of times, and thousands just in the Black Friday sale. So, if you’re looking for a bargain, here are the cheapest single coil, humbucker, and acoustic guitars.
Aileen EGS-111
This is your standard Strat copy. Obviously, it won’t sound or feel as nice as a Fender, but if you need to brighten up your light audio recording, this’ll do the job. It’s going for $59.49, plus $30 shipping.
Giannini G-102
There are cheaper humbucking guitars on Black Friday 2018 on Reverb, but most of my web traffic is from the US, and those guitars were in Europe. Therefore their cheapness was offset by shipping costs of more than $100.
As we can see, this model is a Strat design with humbuckers instead of single coils. It’s going for $148.71, plus $29 shipping.
Aileen acoustic guitar pack
This is an ideal guitar for a beginner, or somebody just looking to add some acoustic vibes to their light audio recording.
It’s unlikely that it’ll be as lovely as a Hummingbird or something, but for $55.24 and free shipping, it’s hard to go too far wrong!
Cort Action PJ Series
It may not be shaped like an axe, but no bass is perfect.
If you’re mostly a guitarist, and want a bass to realize the song in your head, without breaking the bank, this is $152.15 with free shipping. It’s a very basic affair, but it’ll do the job.
Amplifiers
What good are guitars without amps? No good at all! Here are a couple of bargains from Black Friday 2018 on Reverb.
Bugera Vintage V5 Infinium
The best thing about light audio recording is not needing giant guitar amps!
If you need a classic sounding tube amp for your light audio recording, this little combo from Bugera should do the job. It’s got a single 8-inch speaker, and a super-simple control panel. This’ll let your guitar do the talking, and won’t take up much room.
You can get it for $149.99 with free shipping.
Ashdown After Eight 30 watt
I feel like this bass combo is peak “keeping it simple.” This 30 watt amp is promoted as a practice amp, but I’m pretty sure it’d be great for light audio recording too.
Like the Bugera, it has a single 8-inch speaker. And at only $53.52, it certainly meets the budgetary criteria of light audio recording.
Other odds and ends
Pig Hog instrument cable
Pig Hog cables are the best balance between quality and price, which makes them ideal for light audio recording.
For Black Friday 2018 on Reverb, you can score this 10ft one in “Western Plaid” for only $13.51, with free shipping.
Ernie Ball Regular Slinky electric guitar strings
The current electric guitar string of choice at light audio recording. You can get them for $4.24 per pack with free shipping.
Obviously, the saving is only a few cents, but that’s a few cents you can put towards other things. This blog is about doing things cheaply, and every little helps!
